Visit by the Norwegian Ambassador to Poland to our Institute

Today, at the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute, we welcomed Øystein Bø, the Norwegian Ambassador to Poland. The visit included an introduction to the history and activities of the Institute.

The meeting began with a guided tour of the permanent exhibition “'What we’ve been unable to shout out to the world” led by Zuzanna Schnepf-Kołacz, Deputy Director for Programme.

The Ambassador then visited the JHI’s vault, where Agnieszka Reszka, Head of our Institute’s Archives, introduced him to the Ringelblum Archives. Finally, our guest viewed the results of the conservation work carried out by Maciej Stasiewicz (conservator at the Jewish Historical Institute) for our upcoming temporary exhibition “Images of Identity. The Collection of Berlin’s Pre-War Jewish Museum”.

The visit was linked to the Jewish Historical Institute’s participation as a partner in the “Jewish Cultural Heritage” project, co-funded under the “Culture” programme by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism 2021-2028.
