Professor Jonathan Brent joins the Editorial Board of the "Jewish History Quarterly"

We are pleased to announce that Professor Jonathan Brent, director of YIVO, historian and translator, an outstanding expert on the history of Jews and the USSR, has joined the Editorial Board of the "Jewish History Quarterly".

Prof. Jonathan Brent, YIVO

 

Prof. Jonathan Brent is a historian, publisher, translator, and author of books. Since 2009, he is the director of YIVO, a New York-based institute researching the history and culture of Jews and protecting their heritage. Prof. Brent is Visiting Alger Hiss Professor of History and Literature at Bard College, New York.

From 1991 to 2009 he headed the publishing series "Annals of Communism" at Yale University. Author of Stalin's Last Crime (2003) and Inside the Stalin Archives (2008). He translated poems by Iosif Brodski and Vladimir Mayakowski. He is currently working on a biography of Isaac Babel.

The "Jewish History Quarterly" is the most important Polish scientific journal devoted to the history of Jews in Poland and other countries, as well as to Jewish culture and literature.
