Exhibitions

Updated exhibition rules and regulations, effective from July 30, 2021, can be downloaded here: 

 

 

We are introducing new exhibition opening hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9 am-6 pm (last admission at 6 pm);
  • Tuesday 9 am-8 pm (last admission at 7 pm);
  • Friday 9 am-4 pm (last admission at 3 pm);
  • Sunday 10 am-6 pm (last admission at 5 pm).

 

The ticket office works:

  • Tuesday 9 am-7 pm
  • Wednesday-Thursday 9am-5 pm,
  • Friday 9am-3 pm,
  • Sunday 10am-5pm.

Payment only by card.

On Mondays exhibitions are free of charge.

The temporary exhibition "Where Art Thou?" is extended until September 30, 2021.

Entry limit for permanent and temporary exhibitions – 15 people.

The limit for admission to the synagogue exhibition is 2 people.

It is absolutely obligatory to wear a properly put on mask and to keep the distance of 1.5 meters and to disinfect the hands. The cloakroom is obligatory.

Admission to the exhibitions:

  • normal ticket – PLN 15 (individual), PLN 12 (group)
  • reduced ticket – PLN 10 (individual), PLN 8 (group); group tickets – minimum 10 people
  • guided tour in Polish (Mon–Fri) – PLN 30
  • guided tour in English (Mon–Fri) – PLN 40

 

Buy a ticket

You can buy tickets online or at the Institute’s ticket office, open:

  • Tuesday 9 am-7 pm
  • Wednesday-Thursday 9am-5 pm,
  • Friday 9am-3 pm,
  • Sunday 10am-5pm.

We recommend buying your tickets online.

According to the safety requirements, we cannot let in more than 15 people simultaneously to the exhibition ’What we’ve been unable to shout out to the world’ and the temporary exhibition. Only 2 persons can be present at the exhibition ’Small Tłomackie Synagogue’.

For guided tours for groups of school students, university students or seniors, please visit our Education section. Guided tours for these groups are free of charge.

Guided tours, led by employees of the Jewish Historical Institute, are available from Monday to Friday during exhibition opening hours, after prior appointment and confirmation by e-mail. Such tours can be start just after purchase. If you want to arrange a guided tour of the exhibition, please write to: rezerwacja@jhi.pl

 

Walks

For educational walks for groups other than school students, university students or seniors, please see the list of available walks in our Education section and contact us by e-mail: rezerwacja@jhi.pl.

Price list:

  • guided tour with an educator in Polish — 246 zł
  • guided tour with an educator in English — 369 zł

The walks require 10 participants minimum.

Walks are organized from April 1 to October 31.

  • with educators in Polish — 300 zł
  • with educators in English — 400 zł

The workshops require 10 participants minimum.

Please book your visits at least 14 days in advance. In case of paid visits, the payment should be submitted at lest 7 days in advance.

Two readers may stay in the reading room at the same time.

Library

The reading room provides documents from the Archives of the Jewish Historical Institute as well as books and periodicals from the Library’s resources. Orders can be placed in person or by e-mail. Documents and books are available only on site.

The reading room offers bibliographic help, shares information about Jewish institutions, and provides information for historical research. You may use your own copying devices in the reading room.

The Reading room is available:

  • Monday-Wednesday from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm
  • Thursday-Friday – closed

Two readers may stay in the reading room at the same time.

Readers are required to wear masks and gloves. On the given days, the reading room is intended only for users of the library's book collection.
