19 October 2026 our Institute hosted Mr Paul Göttke – Secretary General of the German Bundestag with official delegation: Ms Daniela Rosenthal – Head of the Central Department, Mr Sebastian Rix – Chief of the German Parliament Police, Ms Laura Gereke, Bundestag’s protocol service, Mr Mariusz Głodzik of Chancellery of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, and interpreter, Mr Jan Klinghammer.

Dr Michał Trębacz, Director of the Institute, welcomed the guests and gave them a tour of our permanent exhibition, “What we’ve been unable to shout out to the world”. The exhibition tells the story of Oneg Shabbat, an underground group active in the Warsaw ghetto, and of the unique document collection they assembled, from its inception to the present day. The items on display are materials preserved at the risk of their creators’ lives: documents, letters, and testimonies from witnesses and victims. The exhibits originate from the Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto, listed on the UNESCO Memory of the World register since 1999.

Thank you for visiting our Institute!
