"More Important Than Life: The Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto" Exhibition opening

On 14 August the Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre held the opening of More Important Than Life: The Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto, a powerful new temporary exhibition on the African continent for the first time from NSDoku München and the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute with the support of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland.

The opening featured formal remarks by Tali Nates (Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre), H.E. Mr. Jacek Chodorowicz (Head of Mission of The Republic of Poland in South Africa) and H.E. Mr Andreas Peschke (Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany in South Africa), as well as keynote addresses by Dr Yohai Cohen (Yad Vashem), Tal Bruttmann (historian), and Dr Jens-Christian Wagner (Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorials Foundation), as well as Dr Michał Trębacz (The Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute).
