From one room to the Internet — The Central Jewish Library
The idea of creating a Central Judaic Library, a library containing any books, writings and documents connected to Judaism, is 155 years old. The collection was modest at first, limited to one room, however before the war it grew to 30 thousand books and its own building. The Central Judaic Library was destroyed during the Holocaust. Now, in the 21st century the CJL exists once more — this time in digital form. This is its history.
