The year 2025 will mark the fourteenth edition of the March of Remembrance commemorating the victims of the Great Liquidation Action in the Warsaw ghetto, which began on July 22, 1942.

By September 21, some 300,000 Jews had passed through the Umschlagplatz on Stawki Street, from where transports to the Treblinka death camp were departing, and perished either on the spot, in the overcrowded trains heading to the camp, or in Treblinka itself. Many of the victims remain unjustly anonymous – the March is intended to restore the memory of them and their tragic deaths.

The attendees of each edition of the March of Remembrance include representatives of state authorities, the diplomatic corps, parliamentarians of both chambers, representatives of local authorities, cultural institutions, and Jewish institutions and organizations, as well as – most importantly – hundreds of Varsovians who want to pay tribute to the victims.

The 2025 March will be dedicated to the musicians of the Warsaw ghetto. We will commemorate the following artists: Artur Gold, Janina Familier-Hepner, Paulina Braun, Josima Feldszuh, Jakub Glatsztejn i Szymon Pullman.

The March of Remembrance will begin at 6 p.m. with a ceremony at the Umschlagplatz monument, where speeches will be delivered by the representatives of the Jewish Historical Institute and invited guests. Wreaths will also be laid at the monument.

Afterwards, the March participants will walk along the streets of Muranów (Karmelicka, Nowolipie, Jana Pawła II Avenue, “Solidarności” towards Bielańska, Długa, Stare Nalewki) to reach the Krasiński Garden, where the March will end.

In line with the annual tradition, the participants of the March of Remembrance will tie so-called Ribbons of Memory, bearing the names of victims, to the gate of Krasiński Garden. The attendees will receive them at the beginning of the March and carry them throughout its route. The entire event will close with a solemn concert held in the Krasiński Garden.
