The mini-course, organized by the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in New York and the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, will explore the historical connection between YIVO and the Oyneg Shabes Archive – the secret archive organized by Emanuel Ringelblum in the Warsaw Ghetto.

  • Sunday, October 26

“YIVO Krayz” (YIVO’s Circle) in the Oyneg Shabes Group (Dr. Eleonora Bergman)  

  • Sunday, November 2

 The Yiddish Identity of the Oyneg Shabes Group (Dr. Agnieszka Żółkiewska)

  • Sunday, November 9  

 Milkhome Folklor (The War Folklore) – The Oyneg Shabes Folklore Collection and its Creators (Dr. Marek Tuszewicki)

Each session would begin at 11:00am ET (5:00pm or 17:00 in Warsaw) and end at 12:00pm ET (6:00pm or 18:00 in Warsaw).

The event is a part of a program organized by the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in New York and the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw.
