Starting August 14th, the Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Centre will host a unique exhibition: "More Important Than Life: The Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto".

This is the latest installment of the 2023 exhibition, jointly prepared by the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute and the NS-Dokumentationszentrum, with the support of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland.

The exhibition has already been presented in Munich and Melbourne and will now travel to Johannesburg, from where it will continue to Durban and Cape Town.

The exhibition tells the story of the work of Emanuel Ringelblum and the Oneg Shabbat group, who created the priceless Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto during the war.

The exhibition presents a look at the ghetto from a Jewish perspective, placing the Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto at the center of the story.
