April-May 2007: Unknown wartime street views of Ursus and Warsaw
In December 2006 Mr. Thomas Heldt, from Berlin, deposited at ZIH two photo albums with pictures taken during WW2 by Mr. Heldt's cousin. Max Kockel (born 1897, died after 1962) was in charge of the assembly plant at Ursus service station from March 15m 1940 through November 19, 1942. The photographer did not only document work at the plant (81 photos), but also took many pictures of Warsaw (69 pieces), including unique street views of the ghetto.
