Plan your visit at the Jewish Historical Institute


Attention! Due to coronavirus pandemic, guided tours are suspended from June 1, 2020 until further notice. Exhibitions are also closed on Sundays.

The JHI’s library and reading room remain closed until further notice.

The permanent exhibition ’What we’ve been unable to shout out to the world”, the exhibition „Bejt Tfila – the house of prayer’ and the temporary exhibition are available to visitors from Monday to Friday between 10 AM and 5 PM.



Visits to the exhibitions

- Standard ticket – 15 zł (individual), 12 zł (group)

- Reduced price ticket – 10 zł (individual), 8 zł (group)

Group tickets – minimum 10 participants.


Guided tour to the permanent exhibition „What we’ve been unable to shout out to the world”

  • Polish – 30 zł (individual), 300 zł (group)
  • English – 40 zł (individual), 400 zł (group)

Group tickets – minimum 10 participants.

The guided tours to the permanent exhibition are taking place twice a day from Monday to Friday: at 11 in English, at 2 PM in Polish.

    According to the safety requirements, we cannot let in more than 70 people per hour to the exhibition (35 people every 30 minutes).

    For guided tours for groups of school students, university students or seniors, please visit our Education section. Guided tours for these groups are free of charge.


      WALKS

      For educational walks for groups other than school students, university students or seniors, please see the list of available walks in our Education section and contact us by e-mail: rezerwacja@jhi.pl.

      Price list:

      - guided tour with an educator in Polish — 246 zł

      - guided tour with an educator in English — 369 zł

      The walks require 10 participants minimum.

      For educational walks for groups of school students, university students or seniors, please visit our Education section. Walks for these groups are free of charge.

      Walks are organized from April 1 to October 31.

      We encourage anyone interested in researching their Jewish roots to visit our Genealogy Department.

      READING ROOM

      The collections of books and periodicals can be accessed in the reading room after leaving one’s signature in the library’s book of records. The originals of old prints and manuscripts are available on request, subject to the presentation of a letter of recommendation from university authorities or other research institutions.

      Monday — Thursday: 9 a.m. — 7 p.m.

      Friday: 9 p.m. – 3 a.m.

      We invite anyone looking for information on Jewish heritage in Poland to visit the Documentation of Monuments Department.
