If you’re passionate about:
- searching for roots and family stories of Jews in Poland;
- exploring family stories of your local town or history of your town‘s local community;
and you would like to share your experiences with people dealing with similar subjects, we invite you to attend a social-networking meeting dedicated to searching for family histories of Jews in Poland.
Jewish Genealogy and Family Heritage Center at the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute has been involved in supporting genealogy search of Jewish families from Poland and all over the world for 20 years. We help Poles to discover their Jewish roots and Jews to discover their Polish roots.
The meeting is intended for:
RESEARCHERS, LOCAL HISTORIANS, STATE ARCHIVES EMPLOYEES and EVERYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN JEWISH GENEALOGY and WANTS TO WORK WITH FAMILIES WHO SEEK FOR THEIR ROOTS in POLAND.
Each one of us has a different experience of working with individuals, searching for their family information. It is very important for us to learn from each other and to be in contact. Many of our clients are interested in deeper searches, which require more time and better knowledge of local sources.
For English speakers: there is a chance to present in English although most panels will be held in Polish. There will be an English speaking workshop group.
Place of the meeting: ground floor seminar room in the Blue Tower at Tłomackie 3/5 in Warsaw
