The lecture will be devoted to different narrative and epistemological approaches to talking about the Holocaust in cinema. Referring to the depictions of the Holocaust in film, the category of appropriateness and the issue of appropriating the subject of the Holocaust by pop cultural texts will be discussed. The lecture will be illustrated with original films, which represent a crucial contribution of the cinema to the humanistic and artistic narration about the Holocaust. We will also see how some of the films distort the memory of the Holocaust.
