Rachela Auerbach is primarily known as the chronicler of the Holocaust, one of the three co-workers of Emanuel Ringelblum who survived. However, we still do not know much about her pre-war work, which often allows us to understand the peculiar character of her future activity and writing.
The meeting will be devoted to the less known aspects of Auerbach’s journalism: the history and work of women. Three dominating currents will be isolated: reinterpretation of the Jewish history, analysis of women’s place and role in literature, social journalism devoted to a modern woman.
The meeting will be in the character of research reconnaissance.
