During the lecture, documents illustrating everyday troubles of the Jewish Council will be presented. The troubles will include both those connected with the occupier’s terror and those being a result of internal clashes between the departments.

Documents of the Jewish Council of Warsaw, preserved as part of the first and second part of the Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto are a priceless source of information about the work of the institution which, on the orders of the Germans, administrated the largest population of Jews in occupied Europe. During the lecture, an issue of the Jewish Council’s contacts with the circle of „Oynegg Shabbos” will be taken up.
