On 21st April in the Jewish Historical Institute, an inauguration of an acadamic conference took place. The symposium was co-organized by Polish Center for Holocaust Research, Institute of National Remembrance and Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation. The meeting was opened by the director of Polish Center for Holocaust Research, Barbara Engelking. Speeches were given also by the President of the Institute of National Remembrance, Łukasz Kamiński and the Director of JHI, Paweł Śpiewak.
The meeting was accompanied by a screening of a film about Szmul Zygielbojm. A letter which he wrote just before commiting a suicide was read publicly. The last, crucial part of the conference was visiting the latest JHI’s exhibition ‘Polish art and the Holocaust’.
