Dawid Rubinowicz’s Diary

Opposite us, they took the husband and the wife, but left two children.

Opposite us, they took the husband and the wife, but left two children. Once again, they say that the father of these children was shot dead two days earlier, in the evening, and she, seriously sick, was taken to Kielce. Military policemen, being in Słupia, took away two Jews and in Bieliny took care of them, (of course they shot them dead). In this Bieliny, a lot of Jewish blood has been shed. It is already a Jewish cemetery. [...] If it goes on like this, people will be dropping like flies only out of horror.

Dawid Rubinowicz, 14 years old, 10th April, 1942, Bodzentyn
